A word from your stupid Hoob!

Now that mah computer is working/I have an Interbutts connection, I am preparing to unleash a torrent of poorly-drawn artz. But during this little unplanned hiatus I realised... I really SUCK. I mean, I've come a long way over the years, and some things I'm really proud about; I've even made huge progress about some things that used to really confuse me. But going through my own gallery (I do that a lot when I forget why I logged on--just go through and look for mistakes), I find a lot of the same errors. Not just anatomy, but colouring that looks fuzzy or doesn't stay close within the lines, unclear light sources, taking shortcuts with things, uneven lines--you know, amateur stuff. In some ways I feel like I'm okay with not being perfect, because I'm no longer considering art as a career. I know perfectly well I don't have what it takes, but I'm gonna keep drawing/digitally painting for fun. But I also feel like I should at least take a LITTLE more responsibility to post stuff that isn't totally sloppy.

I do feel proud for having come this far being 99% self-taught, though. And thank you to those who have given me crits, especially Levi-my-fiance-though-we-haven't-talked-in-years, and ESPECIALLY Sara, who not only got me into drawing in the first place, but also helped a lot as I figured out anatomy and other such silliness.

So, though I tend to lose interest in this stuff quickly and move on, I'm gonna make an effort from here on out to post stuff with a finished quality! Not just say 'Screw it, I'm tired of looking at it,' but do the best I can. Hoo-hah! It's a new era of Hoobart!

Also, I have a secret project with my lovely friends Ergo-The-God and ETG's girlyfriend (forget if she's on hurr or not... doofus Hoob). >:3 <--hoshizz, lion I shall drop some clues if it ever gets off the ground!

Also, go check out Illustroluna's gallery. As long as we're talking about improvement, she's pretty much broken the record. She's got some extremely sexy arts thar now. I would attempt to link with icon-y things, but despite having been on here since like 2003 I still haven't learned how to reliably do that. 8D Ohwellz.
